A Couperin Suite is a group of four arrangements that Bernard Hughes has put together from François Couperin’s Ordre 6ème and his second book of his Pièces de Clavecin (1717). Each movement has a evocative title. Les Moissonneurs (The Harvesters), Le Moucheron (The Mosquito), La Commère (The Gossip), and the enigmatically titled, Les Barricades Mistérieuses (The Mysterious Barricades) each will stir the imagination and can help guide the performers in their interpretations.
